Commissioning Segmental Floating Bulkhead

Glenn Industrial Group commissioned a new floating segmental bulkhead at a hydroelectric facility in South America. It consisted of eleven floating caissons joined together to form an articulated bulkhead that was assembled in the water and floated into position allowing the spillway bay to be dewatered. The bulkhead will allow maintenance and repairs to be performed on the spillway gates. Prior to the installation GLENN performed underwater concrete repairs to the piers to provide a uniform sealing surface for the bulkhead.
